YEMI ADEYEMI (DR. YEMZ)

Dr. Yemi Adeyemi, MD, MPH (Dr. Yemz) is a public health physician, author, and advocate for sexual and reproductive health. She earned her medical degree from Sumy State University, Ukraine, and her Master’s in Public Health from the University of South Wales, United Kingdom.

Dr. Yemz leads the Healthy Campus Team at Mount Royal University, developing health promotion programs, workshops, and initiatives that support student wellbeing and success. She is the author of 2 books - "Sex Education Can Be Afrocentric" and "Growing Up: Navigating Puberty,", and is working on her upcoming book "Leading Authentically: Embracing Vulnerability and Diversity as an Immigrant Leader."

Through her program "Wellness Hour" and her broader advocacy, Dr. Yemz creates inclusive spaces for equity-deserving students, empowering them with knowledge, skills, and connection. Her work in destigmatizing sexual and reproductive health has earned her recognition as Writer of the Year (2021) by Brook UK, and a nomination for the Future Awards Africa Prize for Health and Wellness.

She is also a mentor and coach, guiding Black youth to build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

At the Ladies Power Breakfast, Dr. Yemz will be sharing her medical perspective on how understanding our bodies and addressing mental and emotional wellness are essential foundations for wholeness, confident personal leadership, healthy relationships, and sustainable success.
